1/6How to stop cold and flu
Cold and flu come uninvited with the changing weather.
The best thing that you can do to keep yourself away from cold and flu is to stop it from happening at the first place. And here we tell you five ways to do that.
2/6Get enough Vitamin D
Studies show that people with lower levels of Vitamin D are much more likely to suffer from cold and flu as compared to those who get enough Vitamin D.
Vitamin D helps to activate your infection-fighting response. Getting enough Vitamin D from your food alone is tough, so you should talk to your doctor and get the right supplement.
3/6Keep your hands clean and away from your face
Maybe you don’t notice but you touch your face a lot. A study conducted in 2016 found that on an average a person touches his face 16 times per hour.
Because you lay your hands on so many things and at so many surfaces, it’s easy to get the virus on your hands and from there to your face/mouth and ultimately in your system. Also, avoid shaking hands with people.
Washing hands the right way is important. Use the soap for at least 20 seconds. Use a sanitizer when you can’t wash hands.
4/6Disinfect your phone
Take a minute and think of all the places where you put your phone down. Bathroom stall, kitchen counter, work desk, car dashboard, restaurant table and where not.
According to a 2012 study by the University of Arizona, your phones carry 10 times the amount of bacteria than the toilet seat.
